Harvesting of kiwi, azalea and sour pomegranate began in Talesh

From 3,947 hectares of kiwi orchards in Talesh, 3,158 hectares are fertile and it is expected that 110,000 tons of kiwifruit products worth 8,800 billion rials will be produced and sold to the domestic and foreign consumer markets.

Out of 245 hectares of azalea garden, 165 hectares are fertile and this city is the first in Gilan province in terms of cultivation and production of azalea and azalea is being harvested by 881 farmers in 165 hectares and according to estimates 1,155 tons of this fruit will be extracted and 69 billion rials will be given to gardeners.

Out of 22 hectares of sour pomegranate orchards, 15 hectares are fertile and the harvest of this autumn fruit has started with the efforts of 247 gardeners and 75 tons of pomegranates worth 3 billion Rials will be produced and offered to the local consumer market and neighboring provinces.

The amount of lands and production of the mentioned products is not much different from the previous year and 30,000 farmers are engaged in cultivating 27 hectares of agricultural lands in this city and use all opportunities and capacities to support and we use their support.

Talesh city with a population of 200,000 is located in the central parts of Asalem, Hawiq and Karganrood, 110 km west of the center of Gilan province.
