How to wash apples

Health experts have a simple advice on how to properly wash apples.

Apple fruit can be well removed from soil and pesticides.

The use of pesticides leads to increased yields, but some of these toxins remain on the surface of vegetables and fruits and enter the human body.

The penetration of some of these toxic substances in fruits emphasizes the need to find a way to eliminate them and clean the fruit from these substances.

Proper way of washing apples

No detergent can kill pesticides if they have penetrated to a depth of more than 2 tenths of a millimeter into the fruit.

Therefore, experts recommend eating vegetables and fruits without skin or washing them in soda solution.

They should be kept in a solution of water and soda for 15 minutes so that almost all the molecules of pesticides are removed from the fruits and do not endanger the health of the consumer.

Washing oily fruits

To remove the pulp of some fruits such as cucumber or the fat of some other fruits such as apples and citrus fruits, fill a container with cold water and after simply washing and rinsing the fruits, fill the container with water once again and add a few drops of special disinfectant. Add fruits and vegetables. Finally, after 3 or 4 minutes, consume the fruits with plain water, rinse and safely. The use of disinfectants reduces the life of washed fruits, so if the fruits are not muddy or oily, it is better to just rinse with plain water and scotch. Due to the penetration of disinfectants into the tissues of soft fruits such as persimmons, berries or strawberries, they should be washed only with plain water.

Vinegar can reduce the waxy coating on apples, and if left in contact for a long time, it can destroy all available waxes. Although this wax acts as a preservative for the fruit, this wax coating acts as a protector against moisture loss and is a physical barrier against the entry of microorganisms into the fruit. The amount of this type of wax depends on the type of fruit, care at harvest time and storage conditions.

It is better to wash the fruits and put them in the refrigerator

Unwashed fruits have a longer shelf life than washed fruits, but to prevent the transfer of contaminants on the skin of fruits to other substances in the refrigerator, be sure to prepare a maximum of one week of fruit consumption so that you can put them washed in the refrigerator. Washed fruits will stay completely fresh and healthy in the refrigerator for up to a week, provided you know the proper storage conditions.

To increase the freshness and health of the washed fruits, they should be thoroughly dried after washing, placed in a cotton cloth, and placed in a thick nylon bag or aluminum or steel container in the refrigerator at a temperature of 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. The middle floor and cupboards are the best places to refrigerate fruit.
